The consultation always takes place with the doctor who will be treating you. During this conversation, you can indicate what bothers you most and what you wish to change. The doctor can determine whether the desired result is achievable or if an alternative treatment is possible. Subsequently, the doctor will review your medical history and provide an explanation of what the technique entails and what you can expect from the final result. The recovery period, advantages and disadvantages, possible risks and complications, and costs will then also be discussed with you. The aim of the entire consultation is to inform you as clearly and completely as possible.

Furthermore, photos are always taken for your medical file. This is for our own administration. Nothing will ever be shared with third parties without your permission.

Upon mutual agreement, it is possible to schedule an appointment immediately. As soon as the appointment is scheduled, you will receive a confirmation email containing the medical questionnaire. It is important that you complete this carefully.

During your meeting with the doctor, you will discuss the detailed procedure. You may not take some medications before the treatment, or you may need to adjust existing medications according to the doctor’s instructions.

First of all, follow your doctor’s instructions:

• Stop smoking 48 hours before the treatment.
• Do not take anti-inflammatory drugs or blood thinners.
• Strictly follow what the doctor recommends bringing.

The liposuction/lipolaser chin procedure, which takes a maximum of 90 minutes, requires local subcutaneous anesthesia. The major advantage of this is that you are fit again soon after the procedure and can go home. Before the doctor begins the procedure, he will accurately mark the area. The spot where the incisions are made is numbed using small anesthetic injections. A chin liposuction treatment therefore begins with the extensive injection of this anesthetic fluid into the area to be treated.

As soon as the anesthetic takes effect, incisions are made and more anesthetic fluid is injected. After a twenty-minute waiting period, the fat cells are suctioned out using a fine suction needle. The chin liposuction is combined with lipolaser treatment. The laser stimulates the skin to produce collagen, causing the skin to tighten.  The removal of the fat is virtually painless. When the doctor is finished, the incisions are covered with a wound dressing.

This procedure gives you a more defined jawline and reduces your double chin, while the transition to your neck becomes more prominent. The first results are visible after just 1 to 2 weeks. The final, natural result becomes apparent after a few months to a year. The result is long-lasting. However, skin aging continues. By combining the Lipolaser with Liposuction, it offers a permanent solution for a double chin.

• You will be given a headband (lipobandage) that you must wear day and night for one week, and then only at night for another week. This band must fit snugly so that the skin layers are pressed together and moisture has little room to spread.
• Should you experience pain, you can suppress it with paracetamol; however, do not take Aspirin or Ibuprofen, as these actually thin the blood. Once the anesthetic has worn off, the treated areas may still be somewhat painful. We recommend taking 2 paracetamol tablets in time (e.g., before going to sleep).
• When you return home, you are expected to rest, no matter how well you feel. It is common to experience swelling after the treatment. The small wounds may continue to leak slightly after the procedure. This may appear pink or red due to blood mixing. This is normal and certainly not cause for concern. You must wear the headband 24 hours a day for the first 7 days. You may only remove the headband briefly while showering. If you are still retaining a lot of fluid after 7 days and/or the wounds have not closed properly, please contact us. If this is no longer the case, you should wear the headband only at night for another week, unless the doctor advises otherwise. The longer you wear the headband, the better the final result will be! You may develop blue and/or hard subcutaneous lumps (fluid). This is normal. The recovery period for these hard lumps (fluid) can take up to 6 months.
• Showering and sunbathing: You may shower after 24 hours (do not take a bath). The headband can be washed (by hand, 30 degrees) and dried in a towel, on the heater, or in the sun. Do not put it in the tumble dryer, as this will compromise its elasticity. Do not go to the sauna until the wounds have closed and the swelling has disappeared. Until then, also do not sunbathe or use a tanning bed. If you sunbathe again later (this is only allowed after 6 weeks), protect the small scars caused by the incisions with a high sun protection factor (SPF 30).
• Alcohol consumption and smoking: You must not consume alcohol for 24 hours after the treatment, as it has a blood-thinning effect.
• If you smoke, you must refrain from smoking for up to two weeks after the treatment. Smoking increases the risk of complications and has a negative impact on wound healing and recovery.
• We recommend starting after-lipo massages as soon as possible after the procedure. We offer these massages at the clinic and can guide you through the process.
