The SkinPen treatment is a medical microneeling treatment to renew and improve the skin in depth. Using small, sterile needles, pure micro-channels are created in the skin, which initiates the skin’s own wound healing process. This stimulates the production of collagen and elastin. Collagen provides volume and firmness to the skin, while elastin provides the skin with resilience.
The SkinPen treatment is suitable for all skin types and applicable to (acne) scars, fine lines and wrinkles, (de)pigmentation, melasma, large pores, rough skin structure, mild rosacea and skin laxity. The treatment takes about an hour.
What is unique about a SkinPen treatment is that the treatment can be performed all year round (including in the summer!). A SkinPen treatment does not make the skin light-sensitive, unlike other cell renewal treatments. Of course, a good SPF remains important to protect the skin. The big advantage of treatment with the SkinPen is the long-lasting result and the short downtime. After a treatment, the skin continues to produce new collagen and elastin for up to a year!
