The consultation always takes place with the doctor who will perform your treatment. During this conversation, you can explain what bothers you most and what you would like to improve. The doctor will assess whether the desired result is achievable, or whether an alternative treatment would be more suitable. Your medical history will also be reviewed, and you will receive a detailed explanation of the technique and what to expect from the final result. The recovery period, pros and cons, possible risks and complications, and the costs will also be discussed. The goal is to inform you as clearly and thoroughly as possible.

During your consultation with the doctor, the detailed procedure will be discussed. Some medications may need to be discontinued or adjusted according to the doctor’s instructions.

Please follow these guidelines from your doctor:

• Stop smoking 48 hours before the treatment.
  
• Avoid anti-inflammatory drugs or blood thinners.
  
• Follow your doctor’s recommendations carefully.

The PDO thread lift procedure (for décolleté, brow lift, jawline, full face, or neck) takes approximately 15 to 45 minutes. A local subcutaneous anesthetic is used. A small incision is made under the skin through which the PDO thread is inserted into the deeper skin layers. The number of threads used depends on the number of zones being treated. Once the cannula is removed, the thread remains anchored in the tissue, immediately creating a lifting effect. Collagen production begins around the thread, and although some results are visible immediately, the full result is typically seen after six weeks. The treatment is generally not painful, and you can go home right after the procedure.

Once the threads are inserted, the lifting effect begins. Your skin starts producing collagen around the threads, resulting in:

• Immediate lifting and tissue repositioning
  
• Improved, smoother, fuller complexion (after ~4 weeks)
  
• Restored volume, thicker skin, and reduction of wrinkles (after ~2 months)

Mild swelling or soreness may occur immediately after a PDO thread lift. The injection sites may also be red or slightly swollen, and your skin may show some discoloration. Cooling the treated area at the clinic is recommended.

If you experience pain, you may take paracetamol—but avoid aspirin or ibuprofen as these thin the blood. After the anesthetic wears off, the area may still feel sore. We advise taking 2 paracetamol before bedtime.

Once home, rest is important, even if you feel well.

Avoid sunbeds, intense sunlight, and saunas for the first 2 weeks. UV exposure can make the treated skin more sensitive, lead to pigmentation, and negatively impact the results. Always protect the treated area with a high SPF.

Avoid alcohol and smoking for 24 hours after treatment as both can thin the blood.
